Childhood and youth
As a child, young Misha was not in good health, but there was always a caring grandmother next to him. It was she who raised her grandson in the village of Tarkhany. When the boy was ten years old, she took him to the Caucasus, which impressed Lermontov for life.
During his studies at the university hostel in Moscow, Lermontov wrote his first poems, at that time he was only 14 years old. Then the poet's love for reading has already embraced, but at the same time, she is also disappointed with the world around her due to the bad relations of her grandmother and father.
Education
In 1829, the first version of Lermontov's Demon will be written, and a year later the young poet was already studying at Moscow University. However, who would have guessed that the great writer was expelled from the university ?! Lermontov was “advised to leave” after two years of study after wrangling with the professor. Then the poet tried again to try to enter a university in St. Petersburg, but they refused to count two courses he had already completed, and the offer to start his studies from the first Lermontov did not suit him. However, it was during his student years that Lermontov's literary talent gained momentum.
The next stage in the life of the writer is the school of guards ensigns and cavalry junkers. An unpleasant incident also happens there: in 1832, a horse hits Lermontov in the right leg, breaking it to the bone, as a result of which he lies in the infirmary.
History of success
By the way, many people know that the character of the great writer was not easy. Mikhail Lermontov, although a wonderful poet, an outstanding writer, but he was a complex person, taunting others. But he treated some people adoringly.
When the death hour of Pushkin came, Lermontov tried to intercede for the honor of his idol, writing the fateful poem "The Death of the Poet". Thanks to this scandalous work, the name of Lermontov became better known, and he was sent into exile in the Caucasus. It is there that the poem “Mtsyri” and its main “brainchild” - “Demon” are created.
Personal life
It is impossible not to mention the three ladies who sunk into the poet's soul. Ekaterina Sushkova is the addressee of the “Sushkovsky cycle”, which consisted of eleven poems about love. The poem "Beggar", which many readers fall into the soul, is dedicated specifically to Sushkova. A whole story is connected with this lady, but with a tragic ending - Lermontov never got engaged to either her or her other muses.
The next beloved of Lermontov is Varenka Lopukhina, feelings for which the poet retained until the end of his life. The girl married a state adviser, and Mikhail Yurievich expressed his torment in his work.
And the last girl who excited the poet’s heart was Natalya Ivanova. Their relationship also does not add up, and poems on the theme of infidelity appear in the Ivanovo cycle.
Duel and death
The first duel of Lermontov was with the son of the French ambassador Ernest Barant. Because of this, the poet was again sent into exile, but already there he plunged into combat life. Then the novel “A Hero of Our Time” is created, critics of which noted the similarity of Pechorin and the author.
The second duel of Lermontov was the last for the poet. He quarreled with Major Nikolai Martynov, who took the life of the writer in 1841.
